Vitamin D is important, especially during the times of the coronavirus, as it helps improve your immune system. This does not mean that you are better protected if you take more vitamin D, but it does mean that a deficiency in the vitamin makes you more susceptible to viruses and other diseases. Vitamin D also aids in the growth of spiermassa, avoiding inflammation and promoting strong bones and a healthy set of teeth by stimulating the absorption of calcium from your diet.
How do you get Vitamin D?
According to the nutrition center, it is sufficient for a healthy production of vitamin D to walk outside for 15 to 30 minutes during the day with uncovered hands and face. However, if you cannot meet this advice, you can also find it in foods such as fatty fish, meat, eggs, and various types of butter.
Taking vitamin D, yes or no?
If you still don't get enough of these products, you can supplement your vitamin D levels with supplements. However, this is not necessary if you get enough sunlight and/or eat vitamin D-rich foods.
